Finally got some mounting putty. Really felt like the universe was against me on this one. Three separate stores were out of stock on mounting putty. Finally swung into an office supply store parking lot on a wild tear, and yes, they had it.

The coda is that I found the mounting putty that I had lost. I had assumed that I had accidentally thrown it away with a bunch of trash when I was cleaning my bedroom, but the truth is stranger. I found it in the bottom of the cabinet underneath the junk drawer, the cabinet where we keep the snacks. I actually went to go put the putty back where it belonged when I was done with it, but my neurodivergent brain opened the cabinet underneath the drawer that is it’s home, tossed it into the darkness, shrugged and said good enough, and then promptly forgot the whole thing. I still have no memory of putting the putty away.
